One of the large events for ISM, the business symposium, was this week and much of the week was spent on preparing for the event. There was a large presentation which taught us the appropriate manner in how to behave properly at the event and what we will do there. At the actual symposium, I learned a lot of skills, especially regarding networking and getting the contact information of professionals. There was a lot of valuable information that I got which I will remember and take with me throughout the course of ISM and with me in the future when I am an adult. Additionally, I had a successful research interview. It was different from my previous interview as it regarded more of my original work and questions which were based on that. As this was my first in-person interview, I think that I did well with things such as my body language and trying to make the interview more conversational. As I struggled with these in my first interview which was on zoom, I am pleased with how this one went. My assessment this week was over the business symposium and it helped me reflect on the knowledge I gained and how to apply it. Additionally, it was my first observational assessment, so it was a good introduction to learning how to do one properly as I had to look over the rules and directions before completing it. Next week, I will focus on my interviews, and interview assessment, and a start on original work.
