He is working in clinical medicine and education with occasional research. While he is not at work, Dr. Gelfand likes to participate in hobbies such as golfing, boating, and traveling. He also has a wife, four children, and three grandchildren whom he enjoys spending time with.

I chose Dr. Gelfand to be my mentor this year because of his specialization in pediatric pulmonology. During our interview, I had a great experience talking to him and got a lot of good information for my primary research. He would be a very great guiding figure for my final product because of his qualifications and relevance to my field. Dr. Gelfand is someone who I look up to and am so thankful to work under the mentorship of.
