A Learning Experience

During this week, I did my research speech, which is an 8-10 minute presentation that I gave to my class covering the primary and secondary that I have done so far. As I have never attempted to do such a speech before, this one was a huge learning experience for me. Due to the length of it, I had to stray away from my traditional approaches that I use for presentations such as writing a script. As I was the first speaker to go during my class, I had to learn to not stress and let my nerves get the best of me during the speech. After I finished it, I was happy with the end result. I have definitely seen improvement from the first introduction speech that I did during the year. As I have struggled heavily with public speaking while growing up, it makes me excited that I can see myself improving at this skill over the span of this course. The two things which I want to continue to improve is time management and memorizing what I have to say more so that I don't have to look down at notes frequently. Other than that, I did a research assessment over asthma that focussed on treatment which would help me with my original work. I will continue to work on such topics as the following week comes.
