Curating Connections

Updated: Feb 19, 2022

Unlike last week, this week I have had much more success in finding people who were willing to be interviewed and connect with me. I've tried new strategies such as going through the UT Southwestern website in which I could not only find pediatricians but pediatric pulmonologists specifically. I had my first interview scheduled on 9/25 and it went well. After conducting it, I realized things that I could have done to make the process better, but I am excited to apply what I learned from this experience to the future. I am currently talking to more professionals in order to see what time they would be available to conduct interviews. While doing this process, I have to fill out the correspondence log which I am heavily using at the moment. Additionally, I have become familiar with the travel log as I filled it out for my first interview. Other than this, I also worked on my research assessment based on pediatric asthma and learned a lot of things that specifically regarded the economic lens of the situation and how it differentiates in more vs. less developed countries. I am looking forward to the week as I can follow up with the professionals in which I'm awaiting a response from and also do my first interview assessment. Up to this point, I have only completed research assessments, so I think it will be interesting to do it based on information from a primary rather than a secondary source.
